Services

Solutions built around how your business moves.

Five services, each shaped by the constraint it answers.

Road Freight Economy & Break Bulk

Consolidated road freight for mixed, palletised and break-bulk cargo between South Africa's major centres.

Part loads cost more on their own, and poor consolidation brings damage, delay and disputes.

DLS plans economy line-haul around your actual dispatch pattern, consolidating loads where it makes commercial sense and handling break-bulk cargo with documented control at every handover.

Predictable transport cost on volumes that do not justify a dedicated vehicle, without losing visibility of individual consignments.

Retail / Chain Deliveries

Backdoor and Distribution Centre deliveries into major retail and chain-store environments.

Booking windows, delivery notes, labelling and DC protocols differ per retailer, and non-compliance means rejected loads and penalties.

DLS works to the retailer's Service Level Agreement requirements, prepares documentation to the receiving standard and manages the delivery through to a clean, quality-checked POD or GRV.

Fewer rejections and turnaways at the backdoor, and documentation that stands up when the invoice is reconciled.

Retail receiving environments are where distribution most often breaks down. It is also where DLS has spent most of its operational life.

  1. Working knowledge of retailer Service Level Agreement requirements, and proactive compliance to minimise delays and potential penalties.
  2. Backdoor deliveries to individual stores as well as deliveries into retailer Distribution Centres.
  3. Documentation prepared to the receiving standard before the vehicle arrives.
  4. Secondary distribution into independent outlets and rural destinations.

Cross-Border Distribution

Distribution from South Africa into Botswana, Namibia, Lesotho and Eswatini.

Cross-border movements add documentation, border processes and longer transit windows most domestic models cannot absorb.

DLS prepares the required paperwork up front and keeps the client updated at every stage of the border leg.

A border crossing is a documentary event, not a geographic one. The boxes are the real form's, drawn empty: the load moves when both are filled.

Customs and Excise Act, 1964 (Act No. 91 of 1964) — section 64D

Regional reach for businesses that want to supply neighbouring markets without building their own cross-border capability.

Domestic & International Courier

Smaller, time-sensitive consignments domestically and into the BNLS countries.

Urgent parcels often fall between full freight and an ad-hoc courier, with no single point of accountability.

Courier movements run through the same operational control and communication as freight, with one contact managing the consignment end to end.

Speed on the small, urgent items without fragmenting your logistics administration across multiple providers.

Dedicated / Full Truck Loads

Dedicated vehicles and full truck loads for volume, project and route-specific requirements.

High-volume or sensitive freight shared across a general network introduces handling, timing and security variables you cannot control.

DLS allocates a dedicated vehicle to the load or the route, sized to the requirement and scheduled around your operation.

Direct movement with fewer touchpoints, tighter timing control and a clear line of accountability for the load.

After the booking, you have a named person at DLS.

A distribution solution is only as good as the communication around it.
