This page is baseline groundwork, not a finished policy. It has been drafted from Detour Logistics Solutions's known business facts and general South African legal requirements, but it has not been reviewed or approved by Detour Logistics Solutions, and it has not been checked by a qualified South African legal practitioner. It is not legal advice. Do not rely on it as final until that review is complete.
What this site actually does
As things stand, this website does not set any cookies, and it does not use analytics, advertising or tracking technologies of any kind. There is no cookie consent banner on the site, because there is currently nothing here for one to gate.
We reviewed the site's own code (not just its intentions) to check this. The only browser storage it uses is two sessionStorage entries, dls-intro-played and dls-hero-motion. They:
- are not cookies: they are never sent to any server, are not readable by other sites, and are not used to identify or track you;
- record only whether the homepage's entry animation has already played during your current browser session, so it does not replay on every page, and, only if you pause it, that you paused the moving sky behind the homepage headline;
- store no personal information: just those flags;
- are cleared automatically when you close the browser tab or window: they do not persist between visits; and
- are skipped gracefully if your browser blocks storage entirely (for example, strict private-browsing modes); the site still works, it just skips the intro animation.
If that changes in future (for example, if analytics or a chat widget is added), this page will be updated to match, and a proper consent mechanism will be added first if one becomes necessary.
Third-party services
The font used on this site (IBM Plex Sans) is self-hosted. It is not loaded from Google Fonts or any other third-party font service, so visiting this site does not, on that account, make a request to a third-party provider.
Following a link on this site to our external client login and shipment-tracking system will take you to a separate system operated on our behalf, which may set its own cookies under its own privacy and cookie practices. Managing cookies
Because this site does not currently set any cookies, there is nothing on it to switch off or manage. If cookies are introduced in future, this page will explain how to control them, and your browser's own settings will always let you block or delete cookies in general.
